A cool December evening
I tried something new with my camera on this cool December evening. I love growing as a photographer!

Hard Work = R&R
Earlier this week I went to visit a friend's cabin. We spent two days working hard. The work was very physical in nature. Those two days were great. I came home super relaxed and happy. There is nothing like raking leaves and sticks and burning it. It was sooooooo satisfying. I'd love to do more of it. Maybe I should be living in the mountains.

Up in the clouds
Last weekend I went to Lake Tahoe and Reno. It was a wonderful weekend. I went for a conference and learned many things that will serve me well. I brought my camera just in case. I just happened to spot these clouds on Sunday. I've never seen anything like them in my life. They took my breath away. I just wanted to share them with you.

Fun with my camera
Okay, this is a completely random picture but I love it. I was out taking pictures with another photographer recently and she showed me how to do this. It is soooooo fun. I took a bunch trying different lights and movements. I had a blast taking the pictures and it will be a happy memory for years to come. I might just do this again in the future. What is life without a little fun?

You just never know what you'll find when you are out and about.
I feel bad for this jelly fish who is either dead or about to die. It looks uncomfortable. I, also, thought it looked beautiful. I had to take a picture of it. I love how it glows from the light of the setting sun. I spotted this beauty when I was out taking pictures of a bride and groom. That session is the reason I am up writing a blog post at this hour. I got the nicest feedback from the bride today. Her message brought tears to my eyes. To be honest, the good feedback excites me to no end. So here I am awake after midnight. Grateful to be awake because of the good things in life.

Emergency Preparedness Month
Please make sure to have, at the very least, a 72 hour kit. Honestly, you should have a kit that will last for a week.
There are so many ways to get prepared. There are tons of resources on the web that have information on how to prepare yourself. I love the CERT program! It is a great program that helps you prepare for your own family but it also teaches you how to help during a disaster. I highly recommend it to everyone.
This picture was taken at a CERT training in June. I just happened to run across it this morning and decided to share.

Summer slipped away
It seems like summer has slipped away when I wasn't looking. I guess I was looking but most of the time I had a camera in front of my face. Time passes in a different way when you look through a lens. With all of that time behind the lens I managed to ignore my blog. Oops. I really didn't mean to do that. I will have to get back on the blogging track.
