On my quest to improve as a photographer I am going to continue to ask for feedback on my photos. This one was taken during the last photography workshop I went to. I felt very free that day. John Ater said something that gave me the freedom to point my camera in directions I don't usually point it. This was the first one of those "free" pictures.
I think you're embarking on a wonderful journey, at least I hope so! Breaking free of whatever rules we place ourselves under and seeing ordinary things in a new way...giving yourself permission...crop...re-crop...turn it sideways or upside down...put it aside and come back to it later...whatever!
ReplyDeleteAdopt an attitude and HAVE FUN!!! Gregory
I think an interesting combination of old and new. Obviously the lamp post looks new, but it also reminds me of the eyes of some robot alien. Very interesting picture.
ReplyDeleteI meant the lamp post looks old.
ReplyDeleteI like this very much. Is this a raw photo or did you do any editing to it?
ReplyDeleteYou may want to check out this link, I have been lusting after one of these for a long time:

I did minimal editing Justin. I just brightened the sky a touch. Those are some crazy lenses.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gregory. I'll have to more fun with the rule breaking. Did I just say that??? ; )
I like that you're looking at things differently, Melinda. The more you practice the more you'll adopt your own flair for angles. Maybe a good thing to practice would be to choose an object and make a point of photographing it from as many different angles as you can think of?
